The challenge
DOST Region 8 needed to decide where AI should go next. That starts with an honest picture of what already exists, in the region and across the country, before committing public funds.
What we built
- A Region 8 inventory of 23 AI projects.
- A national dataset of 78 DOST AI projects across 18 regions, built by script with a heatmap and summary charts, showing where AI work is concentrated and where the gaps are.
- Roadmap sections drafted from those findings.
We used strict rules: a project counts as AI only if AI is a documented part of the technology. Gaps were recorded, not filled optimistically, so decisions rest on real numbers.
The result
The roadmap has launched. It is aligned with all stakeholders involved, adopted by DOST Region 8 and approved by the DOST head office.
